But Chinese electric bus sales are greatly driven by government policies. Sales were actually down in 2017 vs 2016.

I have no problem with English posts on this forum, but I think you should reevaluate your investor mindset if you think a good investment case is build on a daily average of 5 posts for every long in your port.
There are no 1500 relevant news facts on a yearly basis. Rather 5 to 10.

An inactive topic on a forum doesn't mean the subject company is a bad investment, my feeling is actually the opposite.

China is the biggest electric car market, but its electric buses consumed the same amount of batteries as electric cars in 2017 (when 2017 was a down year for electric buses due to changes in government incentives). In Umicore's last 4 conference calls very little was mentioned of electric buses.

Most busses in China have LFP batteries. NMC was forbidden for some time , basically to protect Chinese producers imo ;)

Thanks for the info regarding LFP. I now do recall reading buses and LFP in the past. But maybe buses will also move to NMC in the near future? I recall Grynberg speaking positively about buses.

As to China banning Korean products (as well as Korean battery cell factories in China), it's my understanding China got mad at Korea because of THAAD around 2016/2017:

After THAAD China cut Chinese tourist visas to Korea to zero for a while. Not sure what the status is now.

Like I said, I think the ban has been lifted on NMC for busses. But can't seem to find the proof :x
Might have heard it somewhere in a conference call..

ps Shenzen's bus fleet is fully electrified recently! Other cities will follow.
China is looking at hydrogen busses as well. But Umicore is in that market as well.

HFC is DOA. Don't make any sense (from science or from economics) . People will find out the hard way, like Toyota has and will.
