Ivanhoe Mines: koper,zink en platina

Ik zit er nog steeds in, en ik ben blij dat ik niet verkocht heb want het aandeel presteert de laatste weken erg goed. De koers is lang blijven hangen tussen 3 en 3,50.Nadien is de boel ontploft met dank misschien aan de Chinezen die hun belang een paar maanden geleden nog vergroot hebben. Ook zijn nu blijkbaar de laatste tijd een paar hefboomfondsen ingestapt.

na de instap van Citic had ik een aanzienlijk stuk verkocht. Op een bepaald moment weer bijgekocht door de daling. Best tevreden op dit moment en ik blijf nog wel een tijdje zitten

This cash balance positions Ivanhoe to fully finance its share (approximately US$540 million) of the capital costs required to bring the Kakula Copper Mine into commercial production. Initial copper concentrate production from the Kakula Mine currently is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021.

Veel positieve berichten vanuit Ivanhoe. Men ligt voor op schema en alles wijst er op dat productie vanaf Q3 2021 gehaald zal worden. Nog verder exploratiepotentieel bovendien en grondstofprijzen in stijgende lijnen. koers dan ook al even in stijgende lijn

Tijdens volle Covid-tijd had ik een pakketje bijgekocht, dat heb ik met mooie marge verkocht. Maar verder kan ik me niet voorstellen dat dit binnen een jaar niet hoger zou staan. Dan zouden we al een zware economische crisis moeten hebben (niet onmogelijk) of plots sterke productie/ontwikkelingsproblemen moeten ondervinden (ook niet onmogelijk natuurlijk)

Bijna klaar en mogelijk perfect getimed

First copper production expected in July 2021

Initial production at the Kakula Mine processing plant is scheduled in July 2021. Kakula is projected to be the world’s highest-grade major copper mine, with an initial mining rate of 3.8 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) at an estimated average feed grade of more than 6.0% copper over the first five years of operation. Kakula is the first of multiple, planned, high-grade mining areas on the 400-square-kilometre Kamoa-Kakula mining licence.

The Kakula Mine will have one of the most favourable environmental footprints of any tier-one copper mine worldwide. The mine will be powered by clean, renewable hydroelectricity and be among the world's lowest greenhouse gas emitters per unit of copper produced. Kakula also will have a relatively small surface footprint, as approximately 55% of the mine’s tailings will be pumped back into underground workings.

All long-lead items for Kakula’s initial 3.8-Mtpa processing plant now have been delivered to site with the exception of the transformers, which are currently en route and expected around the third week of October.

Kamoa-Kakula to begin copper production within a month


Co-Chairs Robert Friedland and Yufeng “Miles” Sun are pleased to announce accelerated construction and commissioning progress at the Phase 1 Kamoa-Kakula concentrator plant. The target date for C4 commissioning (milling of ore and first
copper concentrate production) has been advanced to the end May or early June – several months ahead of schedule.
Overall construction of the project’s first phase 3.8-Mtpa concentrator plant is essentially complete, with the majority of the C1 (construction complete) certificates signed off. The plant is energized with permanent power and C2 commissioning, which
involves electrical, control and instrumentation checks, is well advanced. Water is being circulated in certain areas of the plant, marking the beginning of C3 commissioning. C3commissioning involves checking for leaks, certain instrument calibration, control loop checks, and is the precursor to C4 commissioning (hot commissioning), which involves processing ore through the plant to produce a copper concentrate. Overall plant commissioning is running well ahead of schedule, with the first ore
expected to be added to the mill by the end of May 2021. Lower-grade ore will be fed into the plant during the C4 commissioning phase, to ensure plant performance and copper recovery are satisfactory before increasing the head grade

Als aandeelhouder van Zijin Mining is dit ook goed nieuws voor mij , Zijin (39.6 %) , Ivanhoe (39.6%), de Congolese overheid (20%) en Crystal River Golobal Limited (0.8%) zijn gezamenlijk eigenaar van Kamoa-Kakula in Congo.

Als aandeelhouder van Zijin Mining is dit ook goed nieuws voor mij , Zijin (39.6 %) , Ivanhoe (39.6%), de Congolese overheid (20%) en Crystal River Golobal Limited (0.8%) zijn gezamenlijk eigenaar van Kamoa-Kakula in Congo.

Klopt, Zijin heeft ook nog eens een 13.7pct belang in Ivanhoe Mines naast China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited die 26.1pct hebben. Dus de Chinese inbreng is overheersend.
