On Feb 7, 2023 - The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Legislative
hearing discussed introduced legislation:
“To prohibit the importation into the United
States of unirradiated low-enriched uranium
that is produced in the Russian Federation”
Key points:
• Immediate ban on Russian imports 90 days
after the date of enactment
• A waiver to authorize imports not to exceed
RSA limitations, waiver expires after Jan 1,
2028, at which point no imports are permitted
• Legislation terminates on Dec 31, 2040
• Provides $1.5B from the Civil Nuclear Credit

Sanctions on Uranium Imports from Russia
On Feb 2, 2023 - The European Parliament
passed a resolution with 489 votes in favour
that:
“calls for an immediate and
full embargo on EU imports
of Uranium from Russia and
sanctions on Russia's
Rosatom”
