IBM krimpt toch al jarenlang, en geen klein beetje. Is tot nu toe vooral een value trap gebleken.

Maar ik behoud mijn IBM's voor het dividend. Over 10 jaar zal ik (of mijn robot met AI) eens kijken waar de koers staat.

Omzet in 2012 nog $104,5 miljard - in 2016 nog slechts $80 miljard.
Winst in 2012 $16,6 miljard - in 2016 nog $11,9 miljard
Winst per aandeel toen $14,5, in 2016 nog $12,4 ondanks die massale inkoopprogramma's.
Amper groeien is één ding, gestaag krimpen is iets totaal anders.
Ik denk dat de koers vrij correct is nu, zelfs zonder verdere krimp.

Als de koers vrij correct is ben ik al tevreden. Het is mijn enige gok op AI, internetofthings and so on.
Oorspronkelijk was ik een obligatiebelegger en ik beschouw dit aandeel als een perpetual (m.a.w. men denkt niet aan cashen door te verkopen, maar enkel aan de driemaandelijkse dividend).

Mijn hard verdiende loon van de zoutmijnen worden mij in yankee dollars overgemaakt.
Die blijven zoveel mogelijk in usd.
En dan zijn ibm aandelen de perfecte parkeerplaats.

IBM called "attractive large-cap value" by top analyst; shares +1.4%

RBC Capital Markets upgrades IBM (NYSE:IBM) from Sector Perform to Outperform and increases the price target by $20 to $180.

Analyst Amit Daryanani writes, “We think IBM is an attractive large-cap value stock for investors in 2018 as the potential for revenue and margin stability should enable a re-rating. A return to gross margin stability coupled with revenue growth in 2018 should set-up the stock for a year of outperformance especially considering the depressed valuation.”

IBM koop je voor het dividend de komende jaren, met geld dat anders op een spaarrekening zou staan.

En de koers ging vlot over de 170 USD gisteren.
